Dawn Rittenhouse

Dawn Rittenhouse is a seasoned, senior-level sustainability executive and subject matter expert. She not only currently consults through Green Diamond, but also consults and holds additional leadership positions, such as on the Board of Advisors for the Conservation Innovation Fund and the Board of Directors for both Future 500, where she is also Finance Committee Chair, and Delaware Nature Society, of which she was also former President.

 

Dawn was formerly the Director of Sustainability for the DuPont Company, where she led the integration of sustainability into business strategy and management processes. She also led DuPont’s external engagements, including with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the United Nations Global Compact. She held prior positions at DuPont in Technical Services, Sales, Marketing, and Product Management in the Packaging, Industrial Polymers, and Crop Protection businesses.

 

She was formerly on the Corporate Consultive Advisory Group of the World Resources Institute, the Penn State Smeal Sustainability Council and a trustee for The Nature Conservancy of Delaware, and has been widely recognized. Her accolades include  the 2015 Green Building & Design “Women in Sustainability Leadership Award,” 2016 Society of Women Environmental Professionals “Touchstone Award,” and 2017 WBCSD first-ever “Leading Women in Sustainability Award.”

 

Dawn holds two majors from Duke University, one in Chemistry, another in Economics.

 

She lives in Wilmington, Delaware, and in her free time, loves photography and outside activities, such as running, cycling, paddleboarding and kayaking.
